FACING THIS EVENT IS OVERWHELMING: LAWYERS – DECISIONS – WAITING – TRIAL/PLEA – WHAT TO DO?
I truly understand how overwhelming and frightening this situation must be for you. With over 30 years of experience in medicine and surgery, I am here to support you and work alongside your attorney on your behalf. It’s completely natural to feel the weight of what you’re going through, but I encourage you to continue to focus on the path ahead. Looking backwards has no benefit, is full of what if’s, and cannot help you. Keeping your attitude and focus forward is your best and only healthy option. While it is difficult to see through the darkness, this is temporary and eventually will pass.
Admiral William H. McRaven has a 13-minute video, Lessons to Live By, inspired by leaders from Mandela to a young girl in Pakistan, Malala, that should leave you with hope.

THE NUANCES OF YOUR PERSONAL BACKGROUND ARE ‘NOT PART’ OF A TRADITIONAL DEFENSE.
A
Your attorney is there to guide you through the legal process and advocate for your defense. However, they often do not have the time to understand who ‘you’ indeed are, delve into your background, or explore the experiences from your past that may have influenced your choices that led to your current situation. This deeper connection is crucial, as it can shape a more complete defense under 18 U.S. Code § 3553 – The Imposition of a Sentence. Without this understanding, it’s possible that your defense may not fully address the complexities of your case.
A
Moreover, Law Schools usually do not include in their curriculum the realities of life in prison, including the nuances of daily routines and the essential dos and don’ts that can affect one’s well-being. We are here to support you through this challenging time by guiding you on what to bring, how to prepare your family, when to arrive if you are self-surrendering, and what to expect on your first day. We aim to minimize stress as much as possible for you and your loved ones by providing the necessary knowledge and addressing all your questions. You are not alone in this journey; we are committed to helping you navigate it with care and understanding.

WHILE NOT GUARANTEED – NOW, COMPASSIONATE RELEASE MAY BE AN OPTION.
Your attorney must have specialized knowledge in Federal Criminal Defense and experience in practicing in Federal Court, as this expertise is crucial for your case. You may not be aware of certain aspects of your situation that could significantly impact your sentence. While the healthcare provided may only be Basic, your access to optimal “Basic/Specialized” care will depend on the comprehensiveness of your Personal Medical Record, which is a critical part of my expertise. MY CAREER TRANSITION: FROM PATIENT CARE TO PHYSICIAN CONSULTANT
A
This career transition has been a profoundly rewarding experience. It has allowed me to draw upon my years of medical training and my personal experiences within the Bureau of Prisons (BOP). I am grateful for my relationships with retired Bureau of Prisons (BOP) officials and my connections with medical colleagues nationwide. This journey has enriched my professional life and deepened my understanding of the unique challenges many face in similar situations.
M
Facing the legal system and the possibility of imprisonment can be an incredibly daunting and frightening experience, even for those who seem the most resilient. The complexities of navigating the legal process and the harsh realities of prison life can create overwhelming feelings of fear and anxiety. I understand how challenging this time can be and support families facing this life-altering situation. Confronting the legal system and the severe incarceration implications can humble the best of us. It’s perfectly normal to feel scared and uncertain during moments like this. While we all try to adapt, having guidance, preparation, and knowledge can make a difference in finding peace and stability. You don’t have to go through this alone; I’m here to help.

HOW CAN A ‘PRISON CONSULTANT’ HELP?
A
Facing a felony indictment can feel profoundly overwhelming and frightening. The thought of navigating through lawyers, court appearances, and possibly facing prison is a heavy burden to bear and a Surreal Experience. It’s understandable to feel lost in a situation that many only encounter in movies like “The Shawshank Redemption.” The idea of being in a cell surrounded by dangerous individuals can be incredibly scary, especially if you’ve never experienced anything like this before. Please remember that you are not alone in this trying time. Our team is here to support you and your family, offering compassionate care and expert guidance. We are committed to helping you find answers to your questions as you navigate this arduous journey. You deserve support and understanding as you face this challenge, and we are there for you.

‘PHYSICIAN PRISON CONSULTANT‘
A
This is a challenging time for you and your family, and we want you to know that we are here to support you every step of the way. Your concerns are entirely valid, and with our medical expertise, we can offer immediate advice and reassurance regarding any medical or medication-related questions. Your well-being truly matters to us, and we are dedicated to working with you and your family so that you return home in the same healthy state as when you arrived. We are also committed to addressing any medical issues that may arise during your stay and will work closely with your family to face these challenges together. Please remember that you are not alone—our team is here for you. A big caveat is that, like having surgery (any surgery), there are no guarantees of what happens once you are in prison. We will do our best, but stories make the press because something went amiss. This is another reason for a Comprehensive Personal Medical Record to be completed before your Interview.
THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF PRISONS HAS SOME JUDGES BELIEVING THAT THEY ARE EQUIPPED TO PROVIDE THE CARE YOU NEED, BUT NOT ALL.

- An Emergency Motion – THE IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF DEFENDANT BOVIS.
- When a sentenced defendant is currently grappling with (normal) high blood pressure and is denied access to his prescribed (common, generic) medication, neglect does happen and, in this case, resulted in two Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIAs) on January 28 and February 15, 2025. The Bureau of Prisons’ failure to adhere to existing essential BOP Medical Directives could have led to severe brain damage or even death.

I have been where you are going, and my years of experience have taught me that Knowledge and Preparation are “CORE” Values for getting through life. Knowing what to expect before you arrive on day one should provide some relief for you and your family. You will not be on this journey alone; our goal is for you to have the shortest time inside and empower your chances of a triumphant return to society.
MEDICAL CARE. Most BOP judges believe that they can provide all categories of medical care in a timely manner. Fortunately, some judges know that is not true, and others who even manage to get “on the record at sentencing,” the judge stating that they know the BOP will not, or cannot, provide that care. With enough documentation, the Compassionate Release and Second Look Act may be an option later.

At this point, your Indictment is not a glowing endorsement of who you are. We will prepare you for 1) Your Presentence Interview and Sentencing Hearing, 2) Self-Surrendering, Preparation, what to bring and expectations when you arrive at the prison on day one, 3) Last, together, we’ll identify which facility may be best for your Individual “Placement Request” (providing you, and counsel with a court-ready BOP Packet With Supporting Programs), recognizing that the BOP has the ‘final say’ on everything BOP related. IV. IF YOU’RE FACING A DOJ INVESTIGATION, Dr. Marc CAN ASSIST IN SEVERAL WAYS.
You can engage Dr. Marc to help you prepare for your presentence interview with the probation officer. This meeting is crucial since the report will become part of your permanent record. Judges rely on the probation officers recommendations to inform their sentencing and placement decisions, as well as your demonstration of remorse and responsibility. Your journey is important, and this is a key step in moving forward.

If you already have a lawyer, you can add Dr. Marc to your existing team of lawyers. This is especially helpful when a medical issue needs to be addressed or as part of sentence mitigation preparation. Here you are prepared for your interview, your conversation with your judge (which could decrease – or increase, your sentence), and what happens in federal prison. Dr. Marc then supports you (as much as possible) through BOP release and until you get home.

This was an overwhelming period of my life. While I didn’t realize there were support groups out there, I found this one, led by Jeff Grant, years later, and it is EXCELLENT:
‘SUPPORT RESOURCE VIDEO TO START YOUR JOURNEY.’

My New Career Evolved By Combining My Knowledge of the BOP and Experiences In Healthcare.
For years, I have provided medical and surgical management of the lower leg, ankle, and foot, a discipline I genuinely enjoyed. Then,
A
One morning, I responded to a 6 a.m. knock at my front door, where a litany of Alphabet Law enforcement agencies greeted me. This was followed by an 8 a.m. visit to my office (I hadn’t arrived yet), where they took computers and were accompanied by the local board of medicine. We still managed to see patients, but the writing was on the wall, and my demeanor had changed.
M
The next thought regarding my future career path came months to years later and was not very comforting: “As medicine and surgery were all I knew.” That was in 2006, but by 2010, my medical license to practice was reinstated.
,
I owe a significant part of my success to the colleagues who supported me as I appeared before the local board of medicine, was accepted, and eventually had my medical license reinstated to practice. But equally, if not more so, I had those who encouraged me to pursue getting that license back, as that was something my soul needed, and I will be forever grateful.
M
This career transition has been a deeply rewarding experience for me. It has allowed me to leverage my years of medical training, personal experiences in the Bureau of Prisons (BOP), relationships with retired BOP officials, and connections with medical colleagues nationwide.
z
I understand the importance of compassionate care and support, and although this work differs from direct patient care, it brings me a similar sense of fulfillment. We are here to provide exceptional support and preparation, offering the healthcare and preparation focus you truly deserve whenever you need it. I am here for you and your family.
