Alex Mashinsky, the former CEO of Celsius, is facing the DOJ’s 20-year Sentence Recommendation. The judge ruled: 12 Years.

Lawyers for Alex Mashinsky have asked a U.S. court to impose a sentence of no more than 366 days on the former Celsius CEO, who pleaded guilty to one count of commodities fraud and one count of manipulating the price of the CEL token in December. The motion was a final call for leniency and a response to the 20-year prison term suggested by US prosecutors last month.

MEMORANDUM. His counsel’s memorandum (from my non-attorney opinion) appeared complete, if not a bit forward. Due to its significance, I only hope a personal narrative was prepared and embedded in the Presentence Report. Then, with counsel and those close to him, he should be practicing for his most important conversation of his life – the Allocution with his Judge.

You may be right and not deserve 15 to 30 years, which is still a life sentence. However, no one can promise or guarantee what a judge or the BOP will decide on any given day.
