First Step Act Kairos Inside Program Launches at FCI Coleman Low
FCI Coleman Low has become the first Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) facility to host the First Step Act (FSA) Kairos Inside
A program marking a new development in faith-based rehabilitation and productive activities for federal inmates.
Held September 13–16, 2026, the Kairos Inside program is an approved FSA Productive Activity designed to support personal accountability, cognitive development, spiritual growth, and positive decision-making.
The program uses structured reflection, peer interaction, and community engagement to help participants develop healthier behaviors while incarcerated. Kairos International also connects participants with trained volunteers and faith-based communities that can offer support after release.
For individuals serving federal sentences, participation in qualifying First Step Act programs and productive activities can be an important part of preparing for successful reentry and potentially earning First Step Act Earned Time Credits (FSA ETC), subject to federal eligibility requirements.
The launch at FCI Coleman Low highlights the expanding role of rehabilitation, productive activities, and community support within the federal prison system.
